About us
Hi! Thank you for coming to our blog/magazine. It means a lot.
Before we go on to introducing ourselves individually we wanted to let you in on a bit of history about this blog. It started out as an idea back in 2017 when we were both 17 and leaving high school. We always spoke of how we would start this blog and what we would write. Life would get in the way; whether it be university, family or anything that took up our time.
Now it is 2020 and we are in lockdown. So it is a perfect time to get this started at last and see where it takes us. We hope you like it as much as we do. It has been in the workings for a long time and we hope that shows.
With this blog we wanted to include a wide range of topics and styles, including creative pieces of work, personal pieces and work that discusses the world. However, we don't only want to showcase our own writing, we want to be able to showcase other writers' works. So if you have any ideas or already written pieces, have a look at our submissions section and send them our way.
The Editors
Emma Landsburgh
I’m Emma, co-editor of Spilling Ink alongside Eleni. I am currently studying English Literature. I mostly write about current affairs by contributing mostly to our current affairs and The world of… sections. I like to write about humanitarian issues from across the world in hopes of spreading awareness. I occasionally write for our other sections as well. I have written for a few publications before but wanted to embark on my own.
Eleni Kontou
I’m Eleni and I am a freelance writer who is currently studying English Literature and Creative Writing. I hope that through Spilling Ink I can share my love of writing with others, while encouraging them to join in on this journey with us. Hopefully, we can all learn something together.
